More than 100’000 business, cultural, social or sport events take place every year in Central Asia.
The importance of organising these events in a sustainable way is increasing, not only for the sponsors but also for all involved stakeholders who wish to see a clear sustainability strategy and a transparent reporting on the impact on the economy, society and environment and its future legacy.
For the first time, the current standard ISO 20121:2012 and the Guidelines from the Global Reporting Initiative for Event Organisers (GRI EOSD) give clear guidance on how organisers of events should manage economic, social and environmental issues and report on them.
It is relevant for all types and sizes of events including business events, sport events and cultural events (exhibitions, meetings, conferences, competitions, shows).
