On April 9, 2019, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov signed the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On Amendments to the Law “On Introduction of a Visa-Free Regime for Citizens of Some States for a Period of Up to 60 Days”.

The law extends the validity of the visa-free regime for citizens of certain states until December 31, 2025 and expands the list of countries by 7 states, for whose citizens the specified unilateral visa-free regime is valid up to 60 days.

On April 9, 2019, the Parliament Committee on Transport, Communications, Architecture and Construction considered the draft Law “On Amendments to the Law “On Compulsory Insurance of Civil Liability of Motor Vehicle Owners.”

The draft law aims to extend the term of entry into force of Part 1 of Article 32 of the Law “On Compulsory Insurance of Civil Liability of Motor Vehicle Owners” for 2 years, i.e. until February 7, 2021.

Committee members supported the first reading of the bill.

On April 10, 2019, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic signed the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic (Water Code and Law on Water)”.

The law aims to resolve the issue of water use payment.

The current wording of the Water Code and the Law on Water provides for charging for the use of water as a natural resource. However, the procedure and conditions for charging for the use of water bodies and water resources, and the establishment of privileges for water users were not defined. In this regard, appropriate amendments were made to the designated Code and the Law.

On April 13, 2019, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic signed the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On Amendments to the Tax Code of the Kyrgyz Republic”.

The law was adopted in order to improve the tax legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic regarding the taxation of guarantee funds.

On April 13, 2019, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic signed the Law “On Guarantee Funds in the Kyrgyz Republic”.

The purpose of the adopted Law is to improve the legal regulation of relations arising from the creation and operation of guarantee funds in the Kyrgyz Republic.
