The meeting was chaired by the Director of the KGS - Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision Narynbek Satybaldiev.
IBC head Askar Sydykov voiced the current issues of the committee members, such as the onerous financial burden of subsoil users, the implementation of the decision of the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic regarding the fees for the retention of licenses for the subsoil use right, the revision of fees for the use of surface waters, the need for legislative regulation of the use of mine waste, VAT reimbursement and the issue of paying temporary disability benefits to workers in high-altitude conditions.
Director of the Kyrgyz Geological Service Narynbek Satybaldiev provided information on the current KGS activities and shared the department's plans for the near future. Satybaldiev outlined plans to improve the country's mineral resource management system, and also expressed readiness for cooperation and interaction with the business community to solve common problems of subsoil users and ensure sustainable development of this sector.
The final part of the event was a question and answer session, at which the meeting participants discussed current issues and prospects for the development of the mining industry in the Kyrgyz Republic.
