Investment Council discussed the development prospects of the Issyk-Kul region

On August 8-9, 2024, a meeting of the Regional Investment Council was held in the Issyk-Kul region. IBC head Askar Sydykov took part in the event.

The meeting brought together more than one hundred participants representing the business community, government agencies, international organizations, the media and the public.

During the meeting, the most important issues concerning the long-term prospects and development opportunities of the Issyk-Kul region were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the development of a regional investment plan and roadmap, which will serve as a basis for sustainable economic growth in the region.

The participants discussed the current state and development paths of public-private partnership (PPP), focusing on the transformational infrastructure of PPP and its impact on the economic development of the region. Successful projects and initiatives were presented that are already contributing to improving the investment climate and attracting new investments to the region.

One of the key aspects of the meeting was the further improvement of the business ecosystem at the local level. Measures to improve the conditions for the development of entrepreneurship and stimulate economic activity in the region were discussed.

The event was organized by the Office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Issyk-Kul region jointly with the PPP Center and the Secretariat of the Investment Council under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in the Kyrgyz Republic.
