World Bank mission familiarized with macroeconomic processes in the Kyrgyz Republic

Representatives of IBC and the World Bank mission discussed the development of the private sector, business environment and investment climate in Kyrgyzstan.

Special attention was paid to investment and tax policy, and administrative business regulation. IBC Executive Director spoke about the problems of business and the need to establish the rule of law. Such important issues for business as access to financing, competition in the market, the need for state support of exporters were also considered.

From October 10 to 12, the WB mission headed by Mr. Sandip Mahajan, Global Practice Manager for Macroeconomics, Trade and Investment, in charge of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as Russia and other countries of Central Asia and the Caucasus, visited the Kyrgyz Republic.

The main objectives of the mission were to familiarize with macroeconomic processes in the country, economic reforms and strategic documents, as well as to inform about the progress of work in the framework of the Operation in support of development policies in the field of economic management.
