The IBC Committee introduces proposals on brand names and trademarks

The IBC Committee on Intellectual Property discussed peculiarities of trademark regulation in Kyrgyzstan, as well as issues related to the abolition of the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Trade Names" in 2016.

The meeting was attended by the leadership of the State Service of Intellectual Property and Innovations under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyzpatent) and IBC members and partners. BC Executive Director Askar Sydykov handed a letter of appreciation to Kyrgyzpatent Chairman Dosaly Esenaliev.

Committee Chair Saodat Shakirova (the ARTE Law firm) reported on the Committee’s work for 2017. Alexei Vandaev, Senior Lawyer at the Kalikova & Associates law firm, commented on the abolition of the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Trade Names" in 2016. The Committee's proposals on the issues discussed will be submitted to the Justice Ministry. It was also decided to discuss them at the next expanded Committee meeting.
