IBC and the Trade Union Federation signed a cooperation agreement

The International Business Council and the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan signed a Cooperation Agreement aimed at developing social partnership and constructive interaction between representatives of workers and the business community.

IBC Executive Director Askar Sydykov and Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan Muradil Jumadilde uulu signed the document.

The agreement provides for cooperation in the following areas:

-improving labor and employment legislation;

-protecting labor rights and promoting responsible business practices;

-improving the quality of jobs and reducing informal employment;

-developing professional standards and a qualifications system;

-improving occupational health and safety;

-adapting labor relations to digitalization, automation, and new forms of employment;

-developing collective bargaining and equal opportunity;

-conducting joint labor market research and preparing proposals for government agencies.

As part of the practical implementation of the Agreement, the parties will develop a joint action plan, create expert and advisory groups, conduct research, and prepare recommendations for employers, employees, and government agencies.

The IBC views cooperation with the Federation of Trade Unions as an important step toward developing a balanced system of social partnership. Taking into account the interests of employees and employers will improve the regulation of labor relations, prevent labor conflicts, and create conditions for sustainable economic development in Kyrgyzstan.
