On March 27-28, at the 8th Russian-Kyrgyz Interregional Conference, bilateral documents were signed between Kyrgyzstan and Russia worth more than $6 billion.

The conference was attended by President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, as well as more than 700 representatives of Russian and Kyrgyz companies, heads of regions and key economic departments.

The IBC representatives also participated in the conference, at which special attention was paid to creating conditions for increasing trade and investment. It was decided to develop direct dialogue between the business community by simplifying procedures and improving the business climate.

“The business community was pleasantly surprised by the volume of agreements concluded,” said IBC Executive Director Askar Sydykov. “These are agreements on the supply of agricultural products for $500 million (exports of fish, honey, fruits and vegetables, dried fruits, meat products, etc.), in the mining industry, for the production of equipment for alternative energy sources based on local raw materials, and others.”
