Activity of Methodological Council considered

A meeting of the Business Development and Investment Council under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic held on February 19 discussed the activities of the Methodological Council on coordination of fiscal policy under the Economy Ministry.

According to IBC, the Methodological Council’s activity is opaque and ineffective, because discussion of business’s problems were often postponed or settled in favor of state agencies, even if there are arguments in favor of the opposite solutions.

Besides, the decisions were often conducted without representatives of business associations.

It was decided to discuss this issue at the next meeting of the Investment Council.

The Methodological Council is an advisory body providing coordinated decision-making on the development of fiscal regulations and guidelines. The Methodological Council was created to implement unified tax and customs policy and improve tax and customs legislation.
