During the past week, IBC Executive Director Temirbek Azhykulov, who has recently taken up his duties, held several informational meetings with the IBC member companies. The meetings addressed general issues of further cooperation in the framework of the IBC, as well as issues directly related to the companies’ activity.
* IBC and the Deputy Director General for Wholesales of Gazprom Neft Asia LLC, Chingiz Aitmurzaev, discussed the draft resolution "On approval of the rates of payment for environmental pollution (emissions, discharges of pollutants, waste disposal and waste dumps) in the Kyrgyz Republic”.
* IBC and the Director General of the Insurance Company "Kyrgyzstan" Maria Adenova discussed the status, challenges and opportunities for the development of the insurance market in the country. The meeting participants stressed the need to introduce the Law "On compulsory insurance of civil liability of vehicle owners". The new law will help create an economic interest of all road users and to effectively protect the property interests of the parties.
* IBC and MAZARS consulting firm discussed issues of cooperation and the possibility of organizing business lunches with the IBC members on important business topics as audit, consulting, restructuring the company's debt, HR-Consulting, the issues of attracting investors, and many others. Representatives of MAZARS expressed a desire to hold such meetings not only for the IBC members, but also for a wider audience of small and medium-sized businesses.
* IBC and representatives of the regional office of British American Tobacco (BAT) in Kazakhstan - Maxim Litvin, Corporate Relations Director for the Caucasus and Central Asia, and Armand Abikenov, Corporate Relations Director for Kazakhstan, and Director of the BAT branch of in Kyrgyzstan Anvar Orozbekov discussed the local and regional problems of the tobacco industry, including the introduction of illustrated warnings on tobacco packs of cigarettes in Kyrgyzstan, as well as prospects of bilateral cooperation.
* IBC and FNT Consultants Director Gulnara Arymkulova discussed the specifics of providing consultancy services to international institutions. FNT Consultants carries out projects in Central Asia in the field of economic and social development, covering economies in transition, regional development, infrastructure development, agriculture and rural development, environmental management, and others. The company has developed successful consultancy projects for the Asian Development Bank, European bank for Reconstruction and Development, United States Agency for International Development, German International Cooperation agency GIZ, and others.
