The IBC Board has appointed Temirbek Azhykulov as a new IBC Executive Director. Aktilek Tungatarov, who headed IBC since 2011, has left the association in connection with his transfer to another job.
Temirbek Azhykulov was born in 1979 in the Jalal-Abad oblast of the Kyrgyz Republic. He holds a bachelor's degree in law and has extensive experience in various sectors of the economy.
He began his career in an international engineering and construction consulting company. Working in the mining industry, he participated in the launch of new projects at the exploration stage and then, in the phases of development and production. He worked as CEO of an internationally recognized oil and gas company operating in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Azhykulov heads the Committee on construction of the JIA Business Association (Association of Young Entrepreneurs). He is an advisor to the Chairman of the State Tax Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, an adviser to the Secretariat of the Business Development and Investment Council under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and a member of several working groups under the Government created as a platform to discuss issues raised by the business.
He is fluent in English, Turkish, Russian and Kyrgyz (native language).
Married and has two sons.
