Economy Ministry of Kyrgyzstan suggests moving production facilities from China

IBC members took part in an exhibition-fair of Chinese goods, organized by the government of the Kyzyl-Su Kyrgyz Autonomous Region of China, the government of China’s Kashgar District, and the Economy Ministry of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the Economy Ministry, the exhibition aimed to expand trade and economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China.

As part of the exhibition, a presentation was held for Chinese businessmen on transfer of production facilities from China to Kyrgyzstan. Kyrgyzstan will offer to China idle facilities for establishment of joint ventures and free economic zones. The Chinese part was informed about projects for potential Chinese investment, as well as about Kyrgyz natural resources deposits to be auctioned in 2016.

The municipality of Tokmok hosted a business forum for entrepreneurs of Kyrgyzstan’s Chui province and China on June 2. A similar business forum took place in the city of Naryn on June 5.

The Chinese delegation visited the Issyk-Kul province.

During the recent meeting between the foreign ministers of Kyrgyzstan and China, the Chinese side supported Kyrgyzstan’s proposal to transfer surplus production facilities from China to Kyrgyzstan.

Chinese partners that seek cooperation with Kyrgyzstan as a member of the Eurasian Economic Union have expressed their interest in moving their production to Kyrgyzstan, the Economy Ministry said.
