On February 28, the State Service for Intellectual Property and Innovations under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyzpatent), together with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, presented the Innovation for Sustainable Development Review of the Kyrgyz Republic.

IBC representatives attended the event. The IBC Committee on Intellectual Property actively cooperates with Kyrgyzpatent in the protection of intellectual property rights, stimulating innovation and improving the business environment in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Review presents an analysis of the national regulatory framework and institutional framework for innovation, as well as their impact on economic performance and sustainable development. Special attention is paid to the concept of “innovation for development”. These are innovation-based initiatives that also help solve development problems.

The Review was prepared by a group of international and national experts, as well as by the staff of the UNECE secretariat.

The Review aims to analyze the national innovation policy of Kyrgyzstan and its effectiveness, taking into account international best practice, including its contribution to the achievement of sustainable development goals and making recommendations for possible improvements.
