June 25, 2018

IBC Executive Director Askar Sydykov spoke at a roundtable "Views and problems of law enforcement practice in relation to the entrepreneur" organized by the Economy Ministry.

To increase business confidence in the judicial system and law enforcement agencies, it is necessary to conduct serious reforms in these departments, Askar Sydykov said. In recent years, the number of appeals of business entities to IBC has increased due to the unreasonable criminal prosecution of heads of large private enterprises, the issuance of illegal decisions on economic matters by the judicial bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic. This negatively affects the investment attractiveness of the country.

Economy Minister Oleg Pankratov, Regional Director of the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) Fred Huston, Parliament deputies, representatives of the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ministry of Internal Affairs, State Committee for National Security, State Service for Combating Economic Crimes, and business associations took part in the discussions.
