Askar Sydykov heads the International Business Council

The International Business Council (IBC) Board has elected Askar Sydykov as a new IBC Executive Director.

Temirbek Azhykulov, who headed IBC since May 2015, has left the association to study abroad.

Askar has a master's degree in law. He graduated with honors from the American University in Central Asia and Cambridge University, UK, specializing in commercial law.

He began his career as a social assistant of the Jogorku Kenesh deputy, as well as coordinator of the citizen journalism project. He has been working in IBC since 2012, first as Government Relations Officer and Lawyer, and from September 2014 as Deputy Executive Director.

He is fluent in Kyrgyz (native language), Russian, English, Turkish, and French.
