Global Leaders Programme (GLP) in Hong Kong and Changchun, China

China’s food consumption is changing as its growing middle class increasingly shifts to meat-based diets. China’s agriculture sector is struggling to keep pace as the environmental consequences escalate and as concerns over food safety become a national priority.

A scalable approach to sustainable agriculture and rural development thus presents tremendous business opportunities, increasingly supported by government policy.

As interest grows in China’s agriculture sector, GIFT invites you to join our upcoming Global Leaders Programme (GLP) in Hong Kong and Changchun, China from 11-23 July 2016.

This GLP, in addition to the core leadership development focus, will provide valuable insights into the major transformations now taking place within China.

GIFT is pleased to be working with the Changchun Yunfeng Farming Cooperative, who are pioneering innovative farming techniques to ensure safe and sustainable agricultural value chains and the production of high quality food products. Private investors and other farming communities are eager to invest and replicate its model. GLP participants will support this process through the production of an original and robust business plan for its expansion.

We hope you and your colleagues will consider joining us or nominating managers from your organisation to join the GLP and apply their professional thinking and skills toward the creation of valuable outcomes in Changchun that can be scaled-up across China.

For more information, please review the programme brochure and the project supplement.

Please kindly share this invitation with others who would be interested!

• GIFT’s 2014 GLP in Gansu Province focused on capturing the underdeveloped opportunity in alfalfa. GIFT worked with Gansu Modern Forage to help scale up its production to meet the increasing demand for livestock forage.

• GIFT’s 2011 GLP in Hubei Province developed a social business model for rural farmers. GIFT worked with the Consulting Centre for Farmers’ Associations (CCFA) and the Integrated Farmers’ Association of Heshuiping Region (IFAH) to present a novel business plan to provide a wider range of services to local farmers.
