Acting President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Prime Minister Sadyr Japarov got acquainted with the construction of a gold-recovery plant at the Terek-Say deposit during his visit to the Jalal-Abad region on November 4, 2020.

According to representatives of the Eti Bakir Tereksay Kyrgyz-Turkish company, the construction of the gold recovery plant was suspended due to the delay in the supply of equipment from abroad, reported by the Government press office.

Japarov stressed the need to resume the works at the Terek-Say field, and gave instructions to the relevant state bodies.

“Preparatory work for the construction of the tailing dump is underway. As part of environmental safety during the construction of this facility, all requirements must be met. Work in this direction should be carried out in close cooperation with the local population, and an open dialogue is needed,” the Prime Minister said.

Japarov expressed hope that Eti Bakir Tereksay will fulfill all environmental and social requirements.

“The issue of fulfilling social obligations and environmental requirements is under the control of not only the relevant government agencies, but also the local population,” Japarov said.
