Blasting operations began at the Jerooy gold deposit in the Talas region on November 11.

“The first explosion at the Jerooy quarry marks the beginning of ore mining, which will be accumulated at the transshipment warehouse and at the gold recovery plant”, said Mikhail Shubin, General Director of Alliance Altyn LLC which is developing the deposit.

By the start of processing scheduled at the New Year eve the company must accumulate about 50 thousand tons of ore for the gold production process to begin. This is one of the most important stages in the implementation of the project, Shubin said.

The first industrial explosion was attended by the Chairman of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use of the Kyrgyz Republic Emil Osmonbetov, Deputy Chairman of the Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Committee under the National Sustainable Development Council of the Kyrgyz Republic, IBC Executive Director Askar Sydykov, and other officials.

The participants of the event also got acquainted with the progress of the construction of a gold recovery plant and tailing dump.

The Jerooy project is of great importance for the development of the Kyrgyz economy, said Emil Osmonbetov. This year, several mining facilities were launched in the country, including the launch of the Jerooy mine quarry.

“The implementation of this project will give a huge impetus to tax revenues, increase in wages, in social spheres, and we must fully support the company,” he said.

Jerooy is one of the largest investment projects in Kyrgyzstan, which will bring new technologies, new specialties, new skills among our mining community, Askar Sydykov said.

He hopes that Jerooy will be followed by new investment projects not only in the mining sector, but also in other sectors of Kyrgyzstan’s economy. According to him, all investors are first interested in the mining industry, how Kumtor and Jerooy work. The launch of Jerooy is a positive signal to foreign and local investors, he added.

“It is especially encouraging that such a holding as the Alliance Group came to our country, because this holding is known both in Russia and in the CIS. The business community and the Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Committee will try to provide the project with maximum support,” added Sydykov, wishing the company further success on behalf of the business community.
