Kyrgyz-British relations developing dynamically

A positive result of Kyrgyz-British relations is a 4.5-fold increase in direct foreign investment from the UK in the first half of 2019 (FDI amounted to 64.6 million US dollars).

This was stated by First Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Kubatbek Boronov at the third Kyrgyz-British Investment Forum, held on November 12 in London.

Boronov thanked the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Chaarat Gold Holding for supporting the event.

The Kyrgyz side called to invest in the country and consider the possibility of priority areas for investment, such as tourism, energy, industry, and information technologies.

The event was attended by representatives of ten Kyrgyz and about forty British companies specializing in tourism, mining, consulting, investment, ecology, etc.

The forum participants were informed about the reforms carried out by the Kyrgyz government to improve the investment climate and the development of the private sector, investment opportunities of the country.

The parties discussed measures to create a favorable investment climate in Kyrgyzstan, attract British investment in the domestic economy, invest in projects in the mining industry, information technology, the banking and financial sector, tourism, and regional development.
