Representatives IBC and Plasform Ambalaj Sanayi Ve Ticaret A.S. discussed the issue of tax benefits for Bishkek FEZ entities and the consequences of their absence.

Since the beginning of 2019, four FEZ companies have ceased operations, and about 400 jobs have been reduced. Production decreased by 70 million soms. Representatives of the company asked to bring the position of the FEZ entities to the authorized state bodies.

Since October 17, 2018, 90 Bishkek FEZ entities have been deprived of benefits because of the expiration of the Law on the Free Economic Zones. Previously, all economic entities of the Bishkek Free Economic Zone were exempted from all types of taxes, except for income tax.

The Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic opposed the extension of privileges for the subjects of the Bishkek Free Economic Zone established before 2000. The Parliament deputies proposed to extend the period of tax benefits for FEZ entities, which supply their products to the domestic market. However, the Ministry of Economy considered that such a rule would create unequal conditions for businesses.
