On October 16, 2015 the draft law “On Amendments and Additions to Some Legislative Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic and Annulment of the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Trade Name” came in the Jogorku Kenesh.

The project aims to simplify the procedure of registration of trade names in the Kyrgyz Republic. According to the draft law the exclusive right to the trade name of a legal entity shall arise from the moment of its registration in the Ministry of Justice and ends with the termination of the legal entity’s activity. In addition, the draft law prohibits disposition of the exclusive right on the brand name, including through the alienation or submission of the right of use, and prohibits the use of a trade name that was registered earlier.

The draft law proposes to invalidate the Law “On Trade Name” from December 23, 1999 №145
