IWG discusses with business how to improve the licensing system

An Interdepartmental Working Group on January 26 and 28 discussed conceptual directions for improving the licensing and permitting system and control and supervisory sphere in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The IWG was created by the order of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic dated November 25, 2021. The representative of the International Business Council is a IWG member.

On January 18, 2021, the Economic Reforms Council under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic approved conceptual directions for improving the licensing and permitting system and control and supervisory sphere in the Kyrgyz Republic.

In this regard, the Ministry of Economy holds meetings on the following issues from January 27 to February 4:

- Licensed activities that do not meet the criteria and principles of licensing;

- Criteria for the introduction of licenses and permits based on the evidence of a threat to national security, security of life, property and health of citizens;

- Unification of norms for conducting inspections and licensing control;

- Criteria for transferring licensed activities to outsourcing;

- Mechanism for assessing the activities of GKO;

- Elimination of excessive and duplicate legal requirements for business entities.
