The Economic Reforms Council considers concepts for the country's economy development

On January 15, a meeting of the Economic Reforms Council under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic was held under the chairmanship of the Acting Prime Minister, First Vice Prime Artem Novikov.

The Council members discussed the draft concepts that are important for the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic: on providing business entities with sufficient electricity; on creation incentive mechanisms to support business and develop appropriate infrastructure at the local level; a finalized draft Concept for improving the licensing and permitting system and control and supervisory sphere in the Kyrgyz Republic; drafts of normative legal acts within the framework of the approved concept for interaction with law enforcement and judicial authorities (including the issue of investment protection); RLA within the framework of the approved concept to simplify and reduce land transformation procedures for the implementation of investment projects and the development of industrial enterprises.

The Council members approved the draft Concept on the formation of a free electricity market and the draft Concept on the licensing and permitting system. The rest of the concepts need to be finalized by January 19 along the lines supported at the Council meeting.

IBC Executive Director Askar Sydykov is the Council member. The Council includes the heads of relevant ministries and departments and leading business associations of the country.
