The country's business community has nominated Askar Sydykov, Executive Director of the International Business Council (IBC), for the post of Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to the business community, Askar Sydykov is a high-level professional who is not tainted by corruption scandals. He has all the business skills, knows how to interact with all government bodies, and is not engaged with any political party. Therefore, he will be able to establish and build effective government work. Askar Sydykov is a Cambridge University graduate, fluent in three foreign languages.

"The time has come to put forward our conditions. And we have every moral right to do this. We replenish 90% of the country's budget, and behind us are hundreds of thousands of workers, millions of their families. We have accumulated vast experience in managing the economy and enterprises, and we are able to offer the best alternative for the development of the economy and the country," Chairman of the Association of Domestic Producers Bakyt Degenbaev posted on his Facebook page.

The business community demanded that its representatives from the coalition of business associations be included in the Coordination Council created by political parties for nominating a candidate for the post of Prime Minister, as well as fair consideration of the issue raised by business at an extraordinary session of the Jogorku Kenesh on an equal basis with other candidates proposed by different political parties.

As the IBC head the told Akchabar, he did not have this in his plans (to be nominated for the post of Prime Minister), but he gave his consent.

“After discussions in a narrow format, this proposal was announced to a wider circle of businesses, and the majority supported the initiative. Now we are trying to contact the leaders of the Coordination Council to voice this to them and discuss further actions,” Sydykov said.

If his candidacy is supported, his first steps will be to return the state to the legal field and restore the normal work of state bodies, the IBC head added.
