On April 13, the Fuel and Energy Complex and Subsoil Use Department of the Kyrgyz Government Office discussed the comments and suggestions received from the International Business Council.

Currently, the Kyrgyz Government is approving draft amendments to the existing Procedure for the export from the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic and the import into the Kyrgyz Republic of ores, concentrates and wastes containing precious metals and related recoverable metals.

Changes to the Government Resolution “On Certain Issues of Operations with Commodities Containing Precious Metals” are being considered. Link: https://www.gov.kg/ru/npa/s/2274

Earlier this year, following the meeting at the Economy Ministry held with the participation of all interested parties on March 20, agreements were reached on the need to introduce amendments to a number of rules of the Import-Export Procedure. Later, the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use of the Kyrgyz Republic (GPPEN) submitted the revised draft Order to the Government Office. However, that version did not adequately reflect the needs of the business community.

Following the meeting on April 13, 2020 at the Government Office, in addition to the items in the minutes of the meeting on March 20, 2020, it was decided to make the following additions:

• In the wording of the inspection company, clause 13 of the Procedure provides the inspection company with the opportunity to conduct tests in its own or engaged laboratory;

• Given the restrictive measures in connection with the current epidemiological situation, the requirement for an inspection company in terms of accreditation according to ISO / IEC 17020 should be applied from April 2021.
