Kyrgyz-Hungarian business forum held in Bishkek

The first Kyrgyz-Hungarian business forum, held in Bishkek on February 19, was attended by more than thirty Hungarian leading companies and 58 Kyrgyz companies operating in agriculture, renewable energy, light industry, the IT sector, tourism and construction.

Director of the Investment Promotion and Protection Agency Shumkarbek Adilbek uulu presented an investment map of the Kyrgyz Republic and informed about priority sectors of the economy and key investment projects.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto of Hungary expressed hope that in the near future Kyrgyzstan and Hungary will reach a new level of strategic partnership in trade and economic relations, and also informed about plans for cooperation in priority sectors.

The event ended with B2B meetings, where companies of the two countries could find potential partners and exchange contacts for further interaction.

On the same day, the opening ceremony of the Hungarian Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic was held with the participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto.

The Kyrgyz Foreign Minister announced the planned official visit of President Sooronbai Jeenbekov to Hungary this year. Aidarbekov also invited the Hungarian side to take part in the first Economic Forum “Central Asia: Partnership in Green Economy in Action” to be held on July 9-10 in Bishkek.
