Digital Transformation in Central Asia discussed in Bishkek

The Digital Transformation in Central Asia conference was held on October 4, 2019 in Bishkek.

“We set a goal to bring our country to the region’s forefront in digitalization. We need to immediately solve a number of problems that impede the achievement of this goal,” said President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov, addressing the conference participants.

The weakness of digital infrastructure is a barrier to the production of quality products and business competitiveness, the President said.

The conference brought together IT directors of government organizations and private companies from Central Asia and other countries.

Chairman of the State Committee for Information Technologies and Communications Dastan Dogoev introduced the Digital Road Map of Kyrgyzstan. Foreign speakers shared their ideas about the current evolution of digital technologies throughout the world and in Central Asia.

Conference participants discussed how organizations from Central Asia can apply digital technologies and the role of cooperation in a productive transformation.

The University of Central Asia (UCA), State Committee for Information Technologies and Communications and High-Tech Park organized the event.
