On March 15, a meeting of the working group on improving the positions of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Doing Business rating was held at the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The IBC representatives took part in the discussion.

The Economy Ministry is currently drafting an Action Plan of activities of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2019 to improve the positions of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Doing Business rating.

The meeting participants believe that the business community should submit its suggestions and comments to the Action Plan. In addition to issues with taxation, there are positions in the rating that Kyrgyzstan needs to improve, in particular, on access to electricity, bankruptcy, legal registration, etc.

They also proposed to conduct an experiment – to select several medium-sized companies in Bishkek and the region (Chui oblast) and, together with the leadership of the Economy Ministry and the State Tax Service, to follow in practice how businesspeople submit their reports, obtain necessary documents and invoice numbers at the State Tax Service and other tax processes.
