Business proposes ways to expand economic cooperation with Germany

On February 11, the second meeting of the Consultative Group at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic on economic diplomacy was held.

The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Aidarbekov with the participation of representatives of the country's business associations, including the IBC. The Consultative Group discussed issues of economic cooperation with Germany.

The Minister spoke about the upcoming negotiations on economic cooperation in the framework of the upcoming visit to Germany.

According to Executive Director of the International Business Council, Askar Sydykov, representatives of business associations made a number of proposals to expand cooperation with the German side. In particular, it was proposed to inform about such visits in advance, providing a plan of visits for the year, so that business associations could prepare companies for the visit and B2B meetings. Moreover, it is necessary to indicate the names of companies, but not just the industry in which they operate. The business associations also proposed to include business representatives in delegations.

The first meeting of the Consultative Group, held on February 8, considered the tasks and work plan for the first half of 2019, as well as problematic issues of attracting investment, promoting foreign economic relations of the Kyrgyz Republic with foreign countries, export and tourism opportunities.
