The cutting rules were not approved for several years, which impeded the economic activities of subsoil users. In addition, the originally proposed version of the provision for compensatory plantings established tough conditions for subsoil users, which could not be implemented in practice.
Thanks to the IBC efforts as well as discussion of this issue at the site of the Investment Council under the Government, on December 31, 2018, both documents were approved by the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Subsoil users can now create the necessary infrastructure for their activities, as well as pay compensation to the state for the planting of especially valuable tree species, and authorized government agencies will plant the trees.
