Anti-corruption support for business and investments discussed at the Kabar IAC

On December 4, IBC took part in a teleconference organized by the Kabar IAC to discuss anti-corruption business and investment support.

From the Kyrgyz side, the discussion was attended by Almaz Isanov, Head of the Investment Policy Development Department of the Investment Promotion and Protection Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic, Nurlan Musuraliyev, Vice President of the Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce, Daniyar Mederov, Deputy Executive Director of the International Business Council, Kubanychbek Sagaliyev, Chairman of the JIA Financial Club, and Andrey Dogadin, Executive Director of the BizExpert Analytical Center.

From the Kazakh side, the discussion was attended by Daniyar Sabirbayev, director of the anti-corruption policy department of the Republic of Kazakhstan’s Agency for Civil Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption, Gulmira Kabiyeva, head of the Protecting Business and Investments project, Irina Kim, expert of the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The teleconference participants discussed business issues, the interaction of state bodies and non-governmental organizations of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan in anti-corruption support and the protection of business and investment.

The participants from Astana told about the creation of the Protecting Business and Investments project aimed to create a favorable investment climate and increase the confidence of businesses and investors in government institutions.

Experts from Kyrgyzstan informed on factors hindering the creation of favorable conditions for doing business in the country, as well as measures to fight against corruption. In particular, the country has a methodology for Regulatory Impact Analysis of regulatory legal acts, which contains the basic principles for preventing corruption.

Following the teleconference, recommendations were developed for state agencies and non-governmental organizations of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan working in the field of supporting and protecting business and investments. The meeting participants showed interest in continuous contacts.
