Draft Sustainable Industrial Development Strategy of the Kyrgyz Republic discussed

A roundtable was held at the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use of the Kyrgyz Republic with the assistance of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to present the draft Sustainable Industrial Development Strategy of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2019-2024.

Representatives of the expert community, business associations, including IBC, and state bodies took part in the discussion of the document.

The draft Strategy is designed to create additional jobs, strengthen the competitiveness and export potential of industrial enterprises in the country.

Industrial development for the coming years will be based on macroeconomic stability, attraction of investments, scientific achievements, upgrading of the level of qualification and education, modern infrastructure, as well as the development of the regional industries.

The first part of the roundtable was attended by international and national experts, heads of business associations and enterprises. In the second part, the project was discussed with the participation of the Steering Committee to oversee the development of the draft Strategy, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic.
