IBC and Lawyers of Kyrgyzstan Association sign memorandum of cooperation

On June 24, IBC and the Lawyers of Kyrgyzstan Association signed a memorandum of cooperation at the roundtable "Issues of admission to legal professions" timed to the Lawyer’s Day in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The memorandum aims to promote the development of Kyrgyzstan’s economy, interaction of business, creation of modern market relations, and development of various types and forms of civilized entrepreneurship.

Lawyers of Kyrgyzstan organized the event with the support of the USAID and International Development Law Organization (IDLO) program on strengthening the judicial system of the Kyrgyz Republic. Representatives of state bodies, judges, lawyers, prosecutors, scientists, experts and representatives of international organizations took part in the roundtable.

The participants discussed current issues related to admission to the legal profession, as well as developed recommendations for removing obstacles in this area.

Lawyers of Kyrgyzstan is a self-governing public association. It is the largest public organization uniting practicing lawyers, scientists, state and public figures. The association’s mission is to help build a democratic rule-of-law state by improving legislation and raising the professional level of lawyers, promoting legal education of the population and explaining the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
